APPROACH:
- Players to be selected based on talent and potential for further development at NPLW
- Consideration to player’s welfare ensuring players are not placed in unnecessary physical or psychological demands during the selection process.
- Where possible selection processes to be short and limited to identifying the most talented players
TRIAL DATES:
Alamein Football Club will be conducting Player Trials for their NPLW 2019 U12, U14, U16 & U19 Age groups commencing on Wednesday October 10th. 2018.
Trials will be held over a three - week period at:
Camberwell High School, Prospect Hill Road, Camberwell
Trials will be conducted in three phases:

TRIAL PROCESS:
Trial sessions will focus on player observations rather than coaching and the Small
Sided Game (4v4/5v5/7v7/8v8) format for understanding game principles.
The selection criteria will focus on the FFA Development Phase of football for each age group with specific considerations to:
- Technical Ability (First Touch, Striking the Ball, 1v1 (Attacking/Defending) & Running with the Ball)
- Game Intelligence (Decision making when in possession of the Ball, Decision making when the opposition is in possession of the ball, Ability to anticipate/ identify transitional moments
- Competitive nature/mentality (less focus on younger age groups)
- Explosiveness/speed (less focus on younger age groups)
Alamein FC will commence player offers for positions in the 2019 squads after Phase1 has been completed for any new players. This will be communicated directly to the individual players/parents and selections will remain confidential.
All players offered positions will be required to respond in a timely manner as per the official communication from Alamein FC Technical Director.
All players are required to arrive 15min. prior to their session commencement to have their names ticked off at the Registration Table upon arrival and will be given a number to attach to the front of their top to assist the coaching staff with player identification.
ALL PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED to wear a PLAIN WHITE coloured top and either navy or black shorts during the trial process. Players must bring shin pads and water bottle for hydration.
Alamein FC reserves the right to extend or end the trial process at any stage and alter/ vary target numbers of any squad.
